Listen to Positive Voices on your Entrepreneurial Journey

June 4th, 2010 by Ross, No Comments »

Be careful and aware of who you give your ear to while becoming an internet entrepreneur. Forming positive relationships will further your business, but negative ones may hurt your perspective which can damage your business. Listen only to positive voices which will help you to succeed.

You will hear so many voices, positive and negative when you start your business and continue on your entrepreneurial journey. You have to learn to sift between the good and the bad and try to stay true to your own dreams. The longer you are in business, the more careful you should be as to who you form relationships with. Regardless of how strong you think you are, negative thinking and speech can subconsciously affect your attitude towards accomplishing your goals.

When you begin your transition from employee to entrepreneur, I guarantee some people will think you are crazy for thinking about the notion of eventually leaving your 9 to 5 job. These people are grounded in the old principles of job security. They think a corporate job will keep them financially secure for life. Entrepreneurs see the forest through the trees and realize no job is secure and they desire to start taking control of their own finances. Before you start to try and defend yourself, realize they are under the old canopy of "climb up the corporate ladder and all of your problems will be solved". Sometimes it's just better to close your ears to those voices rather than give your precious time to deal with them.

As you become more successful, more people will desire to form relationships with you because you will be exposed to more professionals. Regardless of the status of the individual, be very careful with the associations you form. You want to develop relationships which will support you and will in turn utilize your support. If a union no longer serves to enhance your marketing campaign, you can professionally dissolve it, especially if it is weighing down your business efforts.

Unfortunately, friends and family may also speak conflicting information to us and we do not want to sever these relationships because they mean so much to us. Before you start on your entrepreneurial journey, explain to those important to you why you are doing it and what they can expect. If they don't understand, love them but close your ears to the voices. The road to a leader is not always precise. It may involve some rocky roads. I teach people how to build their internet business step by step and that no one will become successful unless they are dedicated to their goals. The more dedicated you are, the more you will realize that not everyone is going to be your cheerleader. The quicker you learn how to silence the negativity, the stronger your business will become.

How to Accomplish your Big Future Goals One Small Goal at a Time

June 4th, 2010 by Ross, No Comments »

Many people create big goals and look forward to fulfilling them but find themselves stuck along the way. Part of the problem is we tend to overwhelm ourselves when we compartmentalize something so big in our minds that it seems completely opposite of our current reality. We will stress over the fact that we will never be able to accomplish something so monumental and as a result, we never start moving towards it. In order to bring that future goal into the present you need to connect the dots between the present and the future. The way to join the two is by setting smaller more achievable goals on a monthly and daily basis.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your company bank account. You need to adopt a step-by-step strategy and set everything up properly and this requires goal setting through the entire process! Fortunately, if you can break down your goal into smaller modules and sub-modules, you can create a staircase upon which you can start ascending. It will bring a reality to your goal instead of just a passing dream. Follow these three steps to start putting a serious strategy in place to getting what you want out of life for your business.

Planning

Take your huge goal and break it down into smaller parts. Next, break down each of those into even smaller parts. Do this until you see a goal which you feel you can accomplish in the next week or month. If you can't think of how to break everything down just write what makes sense to you. It does not need to be exact; it is just a method to dispel the idea that your goals are not attainable and help you move in a forward direction. Your goals will change over time anyway.

Prioritizing

Once you are finished writing every smaller goal, prioritize them in order of importance. For example, if you want to create a website, your first priority would either be to start with a design concept or start researching. Regardless of whether you will know what to do or not, give yourself something to do that will keep you moving forward. If you feel helpless you will lose momentum.

Follow Through

Lastly, take action! Don't get caught up in the details. Take it one step at a time. As you complete one goal, you will gain more motivation to move on to the next one and the cycle will continue. Before long you will be on a roll and on your way to fulfilling your ultimate goal.

Where to Find and Attract Prospects on the Internet

June 4th, 2010 by Ross, No Comments »

If you are an internet marketer looking to attract prospects on the web, there are many methods that exist. Before you start branching out, make sure you have a professional website and an opt-in form set up. When you feel comfortable with your real estate on the web, you can consider these different areas to start spreading your brand.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO methods are used to increase a website's rankings in the search engines based on a set of keywords which users type into the query boxes. It generally takes a good year or more to gain some real authority in the search engine's eyes especially if you are in a highly competitive market. You can, however, target less competitive keywords and gain some prospects that way until your website ranks for the more popular terms.

Social Media

Social media is a free way to connect with potential prospects in a more laid back fashion. You can give people a glimpse into the person behind the face of the company and offer value through great information and answering questions. Social media provides a platform for businesses to portray their desire to meet the needs of their audience and as a result they attract more prospects.

Forums fall under this general category as well as they promote communication between marketer and prospect and allow you to showcase your leadership status in the industry. Remember to refrain from sales in forums and only give people what they need while offering advice. If not, you could be kicked out and your reputation may suffer.

Pay per Click (PPC)

PPC is a paid method and a faster way to get on the first few pages of the search engines rather than SEO. You set up advertisements and bid on keywords and when people click on your ad you pay a certain amount per click. PPC campaigns require extensive knowledge to run and require a monthly budget. You can set your advertising budget prior to running your ads. You should test all of your ads and their conversion rates so you do not lose money.

Content Marketing

Content marketing represents a great way to attract more prospects especially if your content is superior. Articles, press releases, videos and podcasts would all fall under the umbrella of content marketing. The more quality content you distribute to the directories, the more prospects you will attract to your business.

In my free “Accelerated Internet Success System”, I show you what you will need to get these methods up and running. With these methods, you can add each of these strategies to your campaign which I guarantee will make a difference. Strive to always offer value with your methods and your company will flourish as a result.
